Planning and executing wedding during a pandemic has been difficult to say the least. However, if you have wonderful planner such as Jyl, or Deering Events, it does make it a little smoother. KT and George originally planned their wedding at the State Room in Boston, but after a handful of reschedules, they worked with Longwood Events and landed on a summer wedding at Belle Mer in Newport RI.
It was important to the couple to spend as much time as they could with their family and friends, as many were unable to attend, so they opted for a first look. First looks are when the couple sees each other for the first time, before the ceremony. As a photojournalist, I really enjoy these moments during the wedding. I observe these intimate moments and create images that tell the story without disrupting the time the couple has together. Moments should unfold naturally, without interference.
I always love children being present at weddings. It lightens the day and really brings home the sense of family. The children did not disappoint, there were several hysterical moments during the wedding. I enjoy that children just are themselves, unaware of what sometimes is happening around them, but always ready to hug you and show you how much they care.
