Just a couple of weeks ago my fabulous friends tied the knot and I’m so honored to have documented it all. I can’t tell you how much it means to me to capture these moments for my friends. Chan and Adam held their ceremony on the lawn of Latitude 41 in Mystic Seaport. The couple decided to honored Chan’s heritage by having a Chinese tea ceremony in the morning. I met Chan while she was finishing up her makeup at her parents house and prepping for the day. Chan had some gorgeous detail to go along with her beautiful dress.
The very important processes of learning how to put the veil in 🙂
Adam started his day at his father’s house.
A big thanks to Brad Smith for being my second shooter for the day and covering the guys getting ready.
Once makeup and hair was done Chan dressed in her traditional Chinese dress. She looks absolutely stunning here, and I love the color and detail in the dress.
It was a pretty emotional moment the first time the couple saw each other for the tea ceremony.
We began the tea ceremony by exchanging tea and gifts between the couple and Chan’s parents.
Chan’s mother putting on Chan’s bridal jewelry for her.
They also served tea to a couple other relatives.
After the tea ceremony it was on to the venue were Chan put on her dress with the help of her bridesmaids. Possibly one of my favorite bridal portraits.
Afterwards we had their first look right on the old Mystic Seaport. In this next photo Adam is waiting for Chan to walk around the corner.
We even got a little impromtpu twirl.
Make sure to check back for Part 2 the ceremony and reception! Also, feel free to check out this couples fantastic engagement shoot here.
