Krysten and Nick’s lovely Inn at Manchester wedding in Manchester, Vermont:
What led you to decide to celebrate the wedding the way that you did?
We wanted to have a fairly small wedding with our closest friends and family members and be in a New England location where everyone could gather for a weekend and enjoy catching up with one another as well as with us. We didn’t want it to be just a 5-6 hour affair on one evening, as you don’t get to spend that much time with each of your guests. Being in Manchester, VT, a place with lots to do, and particularly being at the Inn at Manchester where many of the guests could stay on site with us and we had the place to ourselves, meant that people could come for a weekend and enjoy themselves for a mini-getaway. We also wanted the relaxed feel of Vermont and of a barn wedding.
What was the best part of your wedding?
Seeing everyone in one place together and being reunited after such a long time apart due to the pandemic. We got married August 2021, right when things were starting to feel like the light at the end of the tunnel with the pandemic (little did we know what was in store!) so everyone was in bright spirits.
What were some of your favorite images?
They were all so beautiful, it is hard to narrow them down to a few favorites. Each image captures laughter and love so perfectly. A few that stand out are during the ceremony when we’re both giggling due to a little ring exchange confusion, when we entered the barn for the first time and everyone was up on the feet to welcome us, our first dance, the formals by the gardens, and Krysten and her Dad sitting and laughing together after their dance. We were also lucky to have a lot of small children at our wedding as well, and there are some hilarious shots of kids just being their crazy selves that we treasure.
Any advice for couples going through this process or about to go through the process?
Hire vendors that you trust and that are amazing at their craft and can execute on your vision with little direction needed (or can help you figure it out if you don’t have one). That includes hiring Angie as your photographer!. It made such a difference for us to know we had an A team to work on all the various pieces (photographer, venue, catering, band, flowers, etc.) and made the planning process way more fun as a result.
