What led you to decide to celebrate the wedding the way that you did?
We planned our wedding based on the themes of unity and inclusivity. We wanted each of our guests to feel accommodated, appreciated, and included. This was a chance for us all to share the joy in coming together to celebrate the day.
What was the best part of your wedding?
Shayne – the first look! It allowed us to have a private moment and gave me a focal point of emotion so I could be more present for the rest of the night
Michela – our reception entrance. There was SUCH great energy in the room seeing everyone waving their napkins over their heads and cheering us on during the first big announcement of us as Mr. and Mrs. Shayne Coleman!
Was there anything that surprised you about your wedding?
We weren’t necessarily “surprised” but we were so thrilled to see everything come together – the flowers, blue glass on the tables, the cake, etc.
What were some of your favorite images?
Shayne – the “first look” moment and the one of my groomsmen hugging me right after the ceremony.
Michela – I love the shots down by the water during the cocktail hour. I also love the photos of my dad’s reaction.
Both of us – We love the photo of the flower girl and Shayne’s uncle pouting during the speeches and the headstand on the dance floor!
Any advice for couples going through this process or about to go through the process?
DO A FIRST LOOK! The day flies by so quickly and there’s so many emotions throughout the day. It is nice to have a private moment and process it all together so you can be more present for the ceremony, guests, and other special moments of the day.
Also, trust your vendors! They are professionals and you hired them for a reason. They can troubleshoot anything (if necessary) on your big day so relax, enjoy, and soak it all in.
