September Newport Vineyards wedding
Some thoughts from Brittney & Eric on their September Newport Vineyards wedding:
What led you to decide to celebrate the wedding the way that you did?
Our main goal for our September wedding was to spend as much time with our family and friends as possible. We wanted to make sure the day was fun and easy for everyone – including us! We’ve had so many fun times at Newport Vineyards, so we had an easy choice. They were so professional which let us live in the moment. Every aspect of our vineyard wedding was designed with our family and friends in mind, from staying at the Serenity Inn, where we could keep our family together in one spot, to having Brittany’s brother officiate the wedding. We hosted a very casual welcome party for all the guests to mix and mingle the night before the wedding. By the time the reception came, it felt like one big group of friends gathering together. Seeing everyone we love together in one place, we’ll never forget it.
Was there anything that surprised you about your wedding?
Eric – How nice the photographer was (Such as kiss up)
Brittany – How seamless everything was. I was prepared for anything to go wrong because I have heard so many horror stories about wedding days going off the rails. However, everything was really laid back – at least as far as I know!
What were some of your favorite images?
As Angie knows, we both dislike pictures of ourselves, so it is no surprise that our favorite pictures are candid photos of our families. But Angie did a great job of making two people who hate pictures look good! From catching the perfect shot of our first kiss as husband and wife to candid reactions during speeches, from our first dance to us dancing back-to-back on a crowded dance floor, there are so many photos of the two of us that we love we cannot even choose a favorite.
Brittany’s favorite is her parents and brother laughing at Eric’s brother Mike’s speech… or any pictures of people laughing for that matter!
Eric’s favorite picture is when his siblings hugged him after the ceremony.
Any advice for couples going through this process or about to go through the process?
Our advice is not to get too caught up in the details! As overwhelming as wedding planning can be with how many decisions there are, the main thing that matters on the wedding day is that you are surrounded by people who love you and are excited to celebrate your love. And choose vendors who make your lives easy and trust them! Once we compiled a team of vendors we liked, we just trusted their judgment as they are the experts!
