What led you to decide to celebrate the wedding the way that you did?
After dating for nearly 5 years we welcomed a shorter engagement! We figured there was no better start to summer than by celebrating with our friends and family, especially after everything the world has gone through during the pandemic. We fell in love with our venue and the idea of an outdoor celebration to really show off the grounds. We wanted to include as many family members as possible, many we hadn’t seen in a few years, and made the decision to include our nieces and nephews and younger cousins so everyone could enjoy some time catching up over the weekend. Unfortunately, not all of our loved ones could make the journey to the wedding so we found a great company to help livestream the ceremony so they would feel like they could be a part of our big day from afar.
What was the best part of your wedding?
The best part of our wedding was getting to spend the day with so many of our loved ones, especially those we hadn’t seen in a while due to the world shutting down.
What were some of your favorite images?
- First look pictures in the lower garden, really any of the photos in the lower garden
- Candid photos that captured the feel of the day
- Photos of the kids having fun together
Any advice for couples going through this process or about to go through the process?
Trust your gut! Angie was the first photographer we spoke with and instantly felt that she’d be a great fit for us. She was able to answer so many of our questions and made us feel so comfortable. The feeling definitely extended to our wedding day where Angie helped ease us in to our photos and helped us feel comfortable in front of the camera. It was a great start to our day and really helped us set the tone for the day. We both can hem and haw over too many choices but we both felt confident with our choice and were definitely happy that we trusted our feelings on this one! (We also chose our venue this way too – it was the only place that we actually visited after searching online and looking around at a bunch of places virtually.)
